Writers Rita Williams, David Francis & Janet Fitch in Conversation
"Sister, let me tell your story."

…Spread the Word

Three local writers who made good—David Francis (Great Inland Sea), Janet Fitch (White Oleander) and Rita Williams, will test out some new works, in celebration of Williams’ newly released If the Creek Don’t Rise: My Life Out West with the Last Black Widow of the Civil War. These three writers make up an intimate writing group, and will also share the process of winding your way from inspiration to the published work.

For this special event, we will be bringing out “vintage” limited edition bookmarks from the May Speakeasies of 2002, 2003 & 2004, featuring work by JT Steiny, Amy Jo Diaz and Karen Velas . The evening will end, as always, with a set of live music from Captain Automatic (www.captainautomatic.com).

As always, we will serve piping hot, organic, locally roasted, sustainably farmed coffee from the Coffee Cellar (www.coffeecellar.com) and, yes, there will be a secret Southern cocktail.
